2013年、WRCは大きな変化を余儀なくされた。
シトロエン、フォード（Mスポーツ）の争いに割って入るのは、フォルクスワーゲン。
２年間の準備期間を経て満を持しての登場だ。
絶対王者セバスチャン・ローブのセミリタイア・・・それはじつに10年振りに新王者が誕生することを意味する。
新たなチャンピオンに輝いたのは同じフランス人のS．オジエ。
参戦初年度のフォルクワーゲンを駆り、予測不能な新時代の一年目を制した。
